Sexual Health Screening

We offer a range of confidential Sexual Health screens. Some of the screenings we offer are listed below, however if you have any specific requirements please call us and as our lab offers individual tests for a number of infections and diseases.

Our most requested test is the 7 STI Profile. This test is done by urine or swab sample. Results are available in 48 hours and tests the following sexually transmitted infections:

Chlamydia trachomatis
N, gonorrhea
Mycoplasma genitalium
Ureaplasma
Trichomonas vaginalis
Gerdnerella vaginalis
Herpes simplex I
Herpes simplex II
Macrolide Resistance Test (M.gen)*
- * this is included if POSITIVE M.gen is detected from the same sample

Our FASTest Profiles expedite sample processing to same day results. The following tests are offered:

A summarised guide to symptoms and which infections/diseases to screen for.

Disease/Infection	Symptoms	Incubation period/Time from contact
Chlamydia	discharge from the vagina or penis pain when peeing vaginal bleeding between periods or after sex pelvic pain in women testicular pain in men	1 to 3 weeks but can start much later
Gonorrhoea	green or yellow discharge from the vagina or penis pain when peeing	appear within 2 weeks
Trichomoniasis	discharge from the vagina or penis pain when peeing itchiness or discomfort around the opening of the vagina	within 4 weeks
HIV	flu-like symptoms, such as a high temperature (fever), sore throat, headaches, and achy muscles or joints a red rash on the body (Not everyone gets these symptoms, but in people who do they usually last 1 to 2 weeks)	after 2 to 6 weeks
Syphilis	one or more small painless sores or ulcers on the genitals a blotchy rash and flu-like symptoms that may follow a few weeks later	after 2 to 3 weeks
Genital herpes	small, painful blisters around the genitals pain when peeing a tingling or itching around the genitals	after 4 to 7 days but might not start until months or years later.
Genital warts	small, fleshy growths or bumps on the genitals or around the anus – these are usually painless, but may be itchy	could start from 3 weeks to many months or even years after contact
